It’s been a while since I’ve written on a blog, and oh, how I’ve missed it so. If you love to read, you might know me from a few places. I used to blog with the lovely Deitre Helvy at A Leisure Moment and left there in April. Since then, I have been posting my reviews on Goodreads, but I’ve missed having a blog and talking about all things books.
Another place that I talk about my love for books is Instagram! The bookstagramming community is my favorite form of social media, and not only have I found some of my favorite books through there, I have also found some of my favorite people.
As you can see from my bio (to the right of your screen, if you will), I am a huge fan of Outlander, but if you don’t follow me on Instagram, I’ll spell it out for you. I have candles, an entire shelf dedicated to, and wear my Outlander apparel with pride. I’m a rep for the company New Vintage Embroidery, and her Sassenach shirt and Je Suis Prest hoodie are my favorite parts of my wardrobe. You can even use my code MORIAH10 to obsess with me. And if you can obsess, too, we’re going to be instant friends.
While there are times where it might seem like I only read Diana Gabaldon’s books, I also have a strong penchant for YA. I work at a bookstore, and my love of young adult literature and that my tastes stretch into the adult lit area, make my job a lot more fun. Not only do I get to talk about books all day, but I get to tell people about some of their new favorite books (or at least what I hope will be).
Not only am I an avid reader, I also write. I love writing and can’t imagine life not doing it. My favorite thing to write is young adult and I am working on getting published. Over the years (I started writing seriously at seventeen, which was around three years ago), I’ve learned that writing is a long and laborious process. It’s not easy, no matter if it might look like it, but the satisfaction at typing the end on a manuscript or editing the story to discover the characters you created can’t be compared to anything I’ve encountered.
My life is full or words, and I escape to new worlds every time I pick up a book. I hope that, if you’re reading this, you find a new book to love or the love of your favorite books to share.
